Quick Answers About Working With Me
Practice details answered here.
Getting Started
Book a free 20-minute consultation. It’s a short conversation about what’s going on and what you’re looking for, and it’s a chance to see whether we’re a good fit before committing to anything. There’s no cost and no obligation to book a session afterward.
The first session is mostly about understanding the fuller picture: what brought you in, what you’ve already tried, your history, and what you’d want to be different. By the end, we’ll have a rough sense of direction. You don’t need to prepare anything or have your story organized.
Fit matters more than credentials. If after a few sessions it isn’t working, tell me, and we’ll either adjust the approach or I’ll help you find someone better suited. That isn’t failure, and it isn’t something you need to soften.
No. I work with adults individually.
No. Psychologists in Texas don’t prescribe. If medication seems worth exploring, I can work alongside your primary care doctor or psychiatrist.
What to Expect
Individual sessions are 60 minutes. Most people start weekly, and we adjust as things progress. Some structured approaches run 90 minutes.
We focus on what’s most present for you while working toward the goals we set together. Sessions are collaborative. I’ll ask questions, offer perspective, and sometimes suggest things to try between sessions, but I’m not going to hand you a worksheet and call it therapy. I meet you where you’re ready to begin.
I work integratively, drawing on talk therapy, mindfulness, and body-based techniques, and adjust based on what’s actually helping. For those interested, I also offer more structured, evidence-based protocols:
Trauma: Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE)
Chronic pain: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain
Insomnia: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
These run on a set structure and, depending on the approach, sessions may last 90 minutes. Message me if you’d like to explore one.
It depends on what you’re working on. Some people notice meaningful change in a few months; others stay longer to work through deeper patterns. The structured protocols above have a defined number of sessions. We’ll set goals early and check progress as we go.
We will have multiple methods to stay in touch. We often use email, phone or text depending on the situation.
How Online Therapy Works
For most concerns, research finds teletherapy results comparable to in-person care. Many people also find it easier to speak openly from their own space, and there’s no drive time or waiting room.
Sessions are held on Doxy.me, a HIPAA-compliant, end-to-end encrypted telehealth platform. There’s nothing to download; you’ll get a link and click it at your appointment time.
A private space where you can talk comfortably, a phone, tablet, or computer, and a stable internet connection. That’s it.
No. My practice is telehealth only, with no in-person office.
I’m licensed in Texas and authorized through PSYPACT to work with clients in other participating states. See Insurance & Rates for details.

In Texas, I’m in-network with Aetna and Carelon Behavioral Health. BCBS, United, and Medicare are in progress. The list changes, so check the insurance page for current information, or message me with your plan and I’ll tell you where it stands.
Many plans include out-of-network benefits that cover a meaningful share of the cost. I provide a superbill, a detailed receipt you can submit for reimbursement. Your insurer can tell you your out-of-network mental health benefit and deductible.
We require a card on file. It will be charged after each session for your amount due. We accept most major credit cards.
Please cancel at least 24 hours before your session. Cancellations inside 24 hours may be charged the full session fee.
Yes, with the limits every licensed therapist works under: risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else, and suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult. I’ll walk through this in our first session, and it’s in the Notice of Privacy Practices.
