Online Anxiety Therapy in Texas
Shruti Surya Ph.D. 15 years of clinical experience.
You overthink everything. Your mind races when you’re trying to fall asleep. Even when life looks “fine” on the outside, inside you feel on edge, tight chest, shallow breath, constant pressure to hold it all together.
Anxiety can take a real toll on your body, your energy, and your relationships. And trying to manage it alone only makes it more exhausting.
You’re not broken and you’re not alone. Online anxiety therapy can help you find relief, clarity, and a new way forward.
Does Any of This Sound Familiar?
- “I constantly overthink or second-guess myself.”
- “I feel on edge even when nothing’s wrong.”
- “It’s hard to relax, sleep, or focus.”
- “My chest is tight, my stomach’s in knots.”
- “I try to manage it on my own, but I’m worn out.”
Online Anxiety Therapy That Goes Beyond Quick Fixes
Anxiety shows up in both the body and the mind. In our work together, I’ll help you understand the patterns driving your anxiety, develop tools to manage it, and build lasting change from the inside out.
I use an integrative, evidence-based approach that may include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to shift unhelpful thought loops
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to reduce avoidance and increase presence
- Mindfulness and somatic tools to calm your nervous system
- Relational therapy to explore anxiety in the context of relationships, identity, and lived experience
When Anxiety Lives in Your Body
Anxiety isn’t only in your head. When your nervous system is stuck on high alert, your body carries it: tight shoulders and jaw, shallow breathing, a stomach in knots, headaches, restless sleep. It’s common to wonder whether something is physically wrong before anxiety ever enters the picture. If that sounds like you, Why Is My Body Always Tense? is a good place to start.
Anxiety and physical health also feed each other. Living with chronic pain or a chronic illness can mean constant worry about symptoms, appointments, and what comes next, and that worry makes the physical side harder to live with. This is a core part of my work, so if your anxiety is tangled up with your health, you’re in the right place.
Anxiety and Your Relationships
Anxiety often shows up most with the people closest to you: replaying conversations, needing reassurance, avoiding conflict, or feeling responsible for everyone else’s feelings. In therapy, we can look at how anxiety shapes your relationships and how your relationships feed your anxiety. I work with individuals, not couples.
What We Actually Work On
- Catching “what if” thought loops and testing whether they hold up
- Calming your body in the moment with breathing, grounding, and other somatic tools
- Gradually facing what you’ve been avoiding, at a pace that feels manageable
- Loosening perfectionism and the pressure to hold it all together
- Building your life around what matters to you, not just what feels safe
What Online Anxiety Therapy Looks Like
- Online sessions available across Texas and other PSYPACT states.
- 60- or 90-minute options
- Personalized tools and insight not a one-size-fits-all approach
- Space to be seen, heard, and supported without judgment

Please note: I do not currently treat OCD. If you’re looking for support for obsessive-compulsive symptoms, I’d be happy to offer referrals.
Insurance, Rates, and Where I Practice
I’m in-network with Aetna, BCBS and Carelon Behavioral Health in Texas. BSAW Health Plan, United, and Medicare are in progress.
Cash rates are $165 for a 60-minute session and $225 for 90 minutes. If you’re using out-of-network benefits, I provide a detailed superbill you can submit for reimbursement, and many plans cover a meaningful share of the session cost.
Through PSYPACT, I’m authorized to practice in 43 states. Most of those sessions are cash-pay.
Sessions are available every day of the week, including evenings and weekends. For more information, see the Insurance & Rates page.

Common Questions about Online Anxiety Therapy
For many people, yes. Studies of CBT delivered by video have found results comparable to in-person therapy for anxiety. Many clients also find it easier to open up from home, and there’s no commute on days when anxiety is running high.
In Texas, I’m in-network with Aetna and Carelon Behavioral Health. Private pay is $165 for 60 minutes or $225 for 90 minutes, and I can provide a superbill if you’d like to seek out-of-network reimbursement. See Insurance & Rates for details.
No. Psychologists in Texas don’t prescribe medication. If medication might help, I can work alongside your primary care doctor or psychiatrist. [Shruti] Confirm she coordinates with prescribers.
It depends on what you’re working on. Some people notice meaningful change within a few months of regular sessions; others stay longer to work through deeper patterns. We’ll set goals together early on and check in on progress as we go.
Not currently. If you’re looking for support with obsessive-compulsive symptoms, I’m happy to offer referrals.
It’s a free 20-minute conversation to talk about what’s going on, ask any questions, and see whether we’re a good fit. There’s no obligation to book.
